beloved wife of the late John S. Hanlon; mother of Mary Catherine Medvitz, of Brentwood, Md.; John Francis Hanlon,
of Silver Spring Md., and Joseph Timothy Hanlon, of Lewisdale, Md.; also survived by eight grandchildren, and eight
great-grandchildren. Friends may call at THE NALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Rhode Island ave., at Eastern ave. ne. (Mt. Rainier,
Md.), on Wednesday and Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, March
30, at 10 a.m., in St James Catholic Church, Mt. Rainier, Md. Prayers at the funeral home on Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. Interment
Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Norah M. Hanlon, 93, an area resident for more than 60 years
who was active in church and charitable work, died of congestive heart failure Monday at the Sacred Heart Home in Hyattsville.
She had belonged to St. James Catholic Church in Mount Rainier. She was a member of the church's sodality, the Catholic
Daughters of America and the Knights of St. Johns.
Mrs. Hanlon worked as a volunteer until recently, helping the needy, visiting the aged at the Little Sisters
of the Poor and the Sacred Heart Home, delivering baskets for the Ladies of Charity of St. James Parish.
She was given an award by the Ladies of Charity of Prince George's County in 1975 for her years of service to the needy.
She had been a member of the Mount Rainier Garden Club and the Card Club of St. James Parish. She was a resident of
Brentwood.
Mrs. Hanlon was a native of County Kerry, Ireland. She came to this country in 1900, lived in New York for 15
years and then moved here.
Her, husband, John S. Hanlon, an official of the old Post Office Department, died in 1951.
She is survived by two sons, John Francis, of Silver Spring, and Jospeh Timothy, of Lewisdale, Md.; a daughter, May
Catherine Medvitz, of Brentwood; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. |
